Schedule of classes:
- There are two sections (A00 on Saturdays and B00 on Sundays). These are 3 hour hikes along the beach (up to 6 miles).
- You may only come to the section you signed up for!
- Saturday section (A00): January 19th, February 2nd, February 16th
- Sunday section (B00): January 20th, February 3rd, February 17th
What to bring, wear:
- Bring water and a snack. Wear comfortable clothing you can walk in.
- Wear shoes (not sandles) that you can walk in and can get wet (running shoes or hiking boots - not flip flops).
- If it is raining, bring a rain coat, sweater, etc. If it is sunny, bring a hat, sun screen.
What to expect:
We will be walking up to 6 miles and talking about how the landscape of San Diego came to be: why there are cliffs, why some beaches are sandy and others rocky, why Mt. Soledad is there, why there are mesas and canyons inland and why there are mountains between us and the desert.

Meet at Scripps Pier (star on map below) at 12pm on days of class:
You can get there two ways:
- you can take the southbound #30 bus (see bus schedule/maps). On week-ends, it leaves from VA Hospital at 11:50 am. Get out at Naga Way and come down to the pier or
- you can walk (see map):
